Mum, food creator, and the person behind Wholesome Cravings.
I'm a mum of three living in Suffolk, UK, alongside my golden retriever, Poppy, and our ginger cat, Rufus. When I'm not creating recipes, you'll usually find me playing tennis, at the gym, swimming, out for a run, walking the dog, or spending time outdoors. I love travelling, especially to the Mediterranean — my dream is to own a little house there one day! — and I'm constantly inspired by the incredible flavours of the world, from vibrant Middle Eastern dishes to comforting Indian curries, fresh Mediterranean food, Caribbean flavours and Asian cuisine.
Although I now call the UK home, my journey began in Latvia. At 17, I moved to Switzerland to study for a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Events Management. It was there that my love of cooking truly came to life. As part of my studies, I received classical culinary training, and it completely changed the way I thought about food. I discovered that cooking wasn't just about following recipes — it was about understanding ingredients, techniques and flavours.
After graduating, I moved to the UK to complete a Master's degree in Business and Marketing. I never imagined that this move would shape the rest of my life. It was here that I met my husband, started our family, and found a place that truly felt like home.
Wholesome Cravings started during lockdown. Like so many people, I found the isolation incredibly difficult. Creating recipes gave me purpose, something positive to focus on, and a creative outlet during a challenging time. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a wonderful community that brought so much joy and connection into my life.
"The name Wholesome Cravings comes from something I've experienced first-hand: the more you nourish your body with wholesome, colourful food, the more you genuinely begin to crave it."
Healthy eating stops feeling like something you have to do and becomes something you want to do.
Around that same time, I was also struggling with my health. For months, I felt exhausted — especially after meals. My energy was low, I didn't feel like myself, and despite several medical appointments, I was told everything looked normal. Deep down, I knew something wasn't right, so I started reading books, researching nutrition and experimenting with my diet.
Initially, I thought a vegan diet would be the answer. It helped at first, but I soon realised many of the higher-carbohydrate meals I was eating were actually leaving me feeling even more tired. Then I discovered the work of the Glucose Goddess, and everything clicked. Learning how balancing my blood sugar through more protein, fibre and healthy fats — while reducing added sugar — affected my energy was a turning point.
The difference was incredible. My energy returned, I felt like myself again, and it completely transformed the way I cook and eat. That experience continues to inspire every recipe I create today.

I don't believe in diets. I believe in balance, whole foods and enjoying everything in moderation. Most of my recipes are naturally gluten-free, packed with protein, fibre and colourful fruit and vegetables — but you'll never find restrictive food rules here. Food should nourish your body, bring people together and be something you genuinely look forward to eating.
I also believe that the more colour on your plate, the better. Plants are incredible, and I love celebrating their diversity through simple, flavour-packed recipes that are as beautiful as they are delicious.
No restrictive rules, no guilt. Just wholesome, nourishing food you'll genuinely enjoy — and yes, sometimes fish and chips too!
